What is Lion Dance (or sometimes refer to as Dragon Dance)? Lion Dance (舞狮) is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion’s movements wearing a beautifully decorated lion costume. Lion dances are often performed during special occasions or celebrations, such as the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) or a Grand Opening for good luck, as it is believed that the lion is an auspicious animal that brings fortune and prosperity. Our lion dancers are highly skilled kungfu practitioners and have trained hard to perfect their unique lion-like movements and dance routines.
